The interior is bright and modern, with sleek concrete floors, fresh white walls and tasteful decor. The property benefits from three en-suite bedrooms, a mezzanine room with four beds for 4-6 children, and comfortably accommodates up to 12 people. In every room, there is a (quiet) fan available. The kitchen is in open connection with the spacious living room with lovely lounge sofa by the fireplace, large dining table and a view of the forest. The owner Joao himself has great passion for cooking, is the author of the book "We, Chefs" for which he has interviewed 21 top chefs. It will not surprise you that the kitchen is well equipped.
The various terraces outside (on different levels) offer a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape and various lounge areas. There are even three large dining tables in different places in the garden. Use the Ofyr for your BBQ. On the lower level you'll find the picture perfect pool with a sun terrace and outside shower. A surprise awaits at the side of the house; three outdoor showers next to each other (also hot water), a favorite by the kids.

A Casa de Estremoz is the ideal private holiday home for those wishing to sample authentic Portugal from the comfort of a beautiful interior and stunning surroundings. The property is situated in an extremely tranquil location, yet is still just a five-minute drive from the market town of Estremoz and only 1.5 hours from the Portuguese capital, Lisbon.
The holiday home has been the proud possession of Portuguese owners, Maria and Joao (who live in Lisbon), for three generations. It features typical Alentejo architecture, including extremely thick walls that keep the house pleasantly cool during summer, beautiful clean lines and four chimneys, two servicing the kitchen fireplaces and two providing extra daylight in the bathrooms. The owners have thoughtfully restored the traditional property, retaining a careful balance between old and new. Sleek concrete floors, Scandinavian lighting and designer chairs contrast stylishly with items from local markets and bespoke furniture fashioned by a designer friend.
Bedrooms / bathrooms
- There are four bedrooms in total - three double bedrooms and a "children's" room with four beds and enough space for six children. All bedrooms additionally benefit from doors opening directly onto the terrace that envelops the house. Their sleek, simple interiors have been lovingly furnished with carefully chosen pieces of art, cosy lamps and pretty bedspreads. All rooms are equiped with (silent) fans.
- Three en-suite shower rooms with beautiful marble floors and colourful, handmade wall tiles.
- A "shared" bathroom with bathtub.

- Open plan kitchen equipped with Gaggenau cooler, generous fridge / freezer, dishwasher, large oven and gas hob.

- Swimming pool (11 x 5 m) surrounded by a wooden sun deck with sun loungers and parasols.
- Three unique outdoor showers with hot and cold water, to the side of the property.
- Vegetable garden where guests can pick their own herbs and vegetables (depending on the season).
