A Casa de Estremoz is a beautful renovated farmhouse nestled between cork oaksand olive trees in the largely undiscovered Alentejo region of Portugal. The modern, whitewashed holiday home is situated in a rugged and authentic natural environment, yet within just a 5-minute drive (also possible on foot or by bike) of the charming town of Estremoz, and only 30 minutes from the historic city of Evora.
The interior is bright and modern, with sleek concrete floors, fresh white walls and tasteful decor. The property benefits from three en-suite bedrooms, a mezzanine room with four beds for 4-6 children, and comfortably accommodates up to 12 people. The kitchen is in open connection with the spacious living room with lovely lounge sofa by the fireplace, large dining table and a view of the forest. The owner Joao himself has great passion for cooking, is the author of the book "We, Chefs" for which he has interviewed 21 top chefs. It will not surprise you that the kitchen is well equipped.
The various terraces outside (on different levels) offer a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape and various lounge areas. There are even three large dining tables in different places in the garden. The lower pool you find the picture perfect pool with a sun terrace and outside shower. A surprise awaits at the side of the house; three outdoor showers next to each other (also hot water), a favorite by the kids.
A Casa de Estremoz is the ideal holiday home for those who enjoy relaxing, cooking, and discovering an unspoiled and authentic part of sunny Portugal.

The landscape of the Alentejo region is still unspoiled. There are olive trees, cork oaks and many vineyards. Alentejo is a very good alternative to mass tourism in some parts of the Algarve. The holiday house A Casa de Estremoz is about 1.5 hours drive from Lisbon and just a half hour from the border with Spain. There are many small villages within five kilometers of the house. The closest is Estremoz, the place known for its white marble. There is also a beautiful castle and some very good restaurants. On Saturday morning there is a nice local market.
Marvao and Monsaraz are also "must sees".
Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also worth waard..met its museums, medieval streets, shops and some very good restaurants. And then there is the wine! Alentejo is one of the best wine regions in the world. There are several wineries that you can visit and where you can taste wine.
