Cortona is a town of Etruscan origin in the mountains of the province of Arezzo in the Italian region of Tuscany. The city was founded on one of the earliest inhabited hills of the province and its streets similar to cities like Assisi and Volterra. Cortona is located on the border between Tuscany and Umbria. Lake Trasimeno in Umbria can be seen from the higher parts of the city and is a 15 minutes drive away from Borgo Syrah. This turquoise lake is surrounded by beautiful green hills, vineyards and olive groves and is well worth a visit. Nice2stay tip: rent a boat for a day!
The region also is notable for producing writers, scientists, architects, musicians and artists, all of whom have placed their stamp on the world, as evidenced by the inventive experiments of Galileo, the grandeur of a Puccini opera, and the literary world of Dante, Petrarch and Boccaccio.
Cortona served as a backdrop for some scenes in Roberto Benigni's film La vita è bella (2003). In the nineties, the American writer Frances Mayes bought an old house in Cortona, and totally refurbished it. Here she wrote the book Under the Tuscan Sun (1996). It became a bestseller and later was filmed.

Reservations are considered valid after receipt of a down payment of 30% of the total rental costs. The balance must be paid 6 weeks before the day of arrival. If your booking is done within 6 weeks before arrival, you are required to pay the full amount immediately. In case of cancellation more than 6 weeks before arrival 50% of the received down payment will be refunded. No refund will take place in case of cancellation within 6 weeks before arrival. We therefore strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance.
Euro 300,- security deposit is required upon arrival. These will be retourned at the day of departure.

An eye for quality and detail is clearly reflected in the design of the estate, the materials used in the holiday homes, the private gardens, the professional spa / gym and the restaurant.
The accommodations are characterized by beautiful simplicity and elegance: terracotta floors, natural stone details, tight kitchens, SMEG appliances, design lighting and good beds. You have access to wifi internet and air conditioning.
There are six holiday homes for 4-5 people, three apartments for 2-3 people, a corner house for 6 people and three "detached" houses for 6 people.
