Casa Calvari is a charming traditional stone house located in the alluring fishing port of L'Escala, Costa Brava, just 100 meters from the beach.

The sea-inspired interior of Casa Calvari is simple and stylish! Neutral colors, shades of blue and soft linens bring tranquility to the mostly white rooms, whereas rattan furniture, wicker lamps, pieces of driftwood, and playful shell details bring the beach inside.

The house is spread over three floors with downstairs an ensuite bedroom in a beautiful vaulted room and upstairs two more bedrooms with open ensuite bathrooms. This makes the house suitable for 6 people and is ideal for a few couples or a family with (older) children. For children up to 7 years it is not suitable, but it is for teenagers who can easily go out on their own in the village.
Upstairs you will also find a bright kitchen with a breakfast bar and a cozy living room with a comfortable sofa. This is the perfect place for a siesta! Thanks to the air conditioning and shutters, it is always cool here and you can take a rest with a good movie or documentary on Netflix or Amazon Prime. The highlight of Casa Calvari is the rooftop terrace with a plunge pool surrounded by yucca plants, and as a bonus, a magnificent view over the roofs of the city and further to the sea. Enjoy a refreshing dip here after a day at the beach or just come to enjoy the view.

The location of Casa Calvari is great. Authentic Catalan life can be found directly downstairs in the village; buy fresh bread in the morning at the bakery, enjoy a picnic on the city beach (only 100m!) or stroll through the harbor with trendy al-fresco restaurants. For a day of culture, head to Salvador Dali's birthplace in Figures or lively Girona. The coastline is, of course, beautiful and also for hiking and cycling you will find plenty of opportunities.

Casa Calvari (165m2) is spread over three floors and arranged as follows.

Ground floor:

You enter in the hall of the house which is equipped with a nice cocoon chair and a desk.
From the hall, a vaulted corridor takes you to the first bedroom equipped with a double bed (150x200cm), television, and an ensuite open bathroom with a shower and sink. The toilet is separate.
A staircase leads to the second floor.

Second floor:

Open-plan living room/kitchen with a comfortable sofa, television (with Netflix and Amazon Prime function), and rattan bench.
The kitchen is equipped with a breakfast bar with chairs and SMEG appliances including a fridge/freezer, espresso machine, kettle, toaster, microwave/oven combination, dishwasher, and induction hob.
Two bedrooms, both with a double bed (150x200cm), television, storage space, and an ensuite open shower and sink. Both bedrooms share a toilet.
An open staircase leads from the second floor to the roof terrace.

Roof terrace:

The roof terrace (20m2) offers beautiful views over the city to the sea and is equipped with:

A plunge pool (2x2m) with underwater lighting. The pool is open from April to October.
Sun loungers and a built-in lounge sofa
A dining table for 8 people
An outdoor shower

The house has air conditioning and there is a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer.

Important information:

Casa Calvari is not suitable for children under the age of 7 due to the open staircase to the plunge pool on the roof.
You can park for free behind the house at a 1-minute walk, outside the high season. From mid-June to the end of August you can park for free in a parking lot (Carrer Palanca 2) at an 8-minute walk from the house.
