Hidden among one hundred ancient olive trees in the peaceful countryside of Puglia lies Casa l’Abbraccio: a unique design villa for 8 people. Here, life naturally slows down, accompanied only by the sound of cicadas, gently swaying trees, and long days spent outdoors.
The house was carefully renovated by the Dutch owners, both with a background in design, and their eye for detail is visible throughout. The original structure has been preserved, while soft limewashed tones, natural materials and contemporary design elements create a warm and refined ambience. Playful niches, built-in cupboards, handcrafted details and carefully selected design pieces by Piet Hein Eek, Wieki Somers and Tom Dixon add character to the interiors. Large windows and French doors allow natural light to flood in and create a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors.
At the heart of the house is the spacious open-plan living area with kitchen, long dining table and a cosy sitting area around the fireplace. The bedrooms are positioned on either side of the living area. One of the rooms features not only a double bed, but also bunk beds - ideal for families. From every bedroom, French doors open directly onto the terrace or garden. Outside, the true Puglian lifestyle unfolds: gravel paths winding through the olive grove, hidden lounge corners, beanbags beneath the trees, a covered outdoor kitchen and a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the surrounding olive trees.
Casa l’Abbraccio is located close to Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica, two of the most beautiful towns in the region. Within approximately twenty minutes, you reach the Adriatic coast and Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve. Charming towns such as Cisternino, Martina Franca and Alberobello are also within easy reach. A perfect place for those who appreciate tranquillity, beauty and the pure lifestyle of southern Italy.
