The charming Domaine de Montlaur estate is idyllically situated in the Languedoc region of the South of France. Conveniently located in the village of Val de Dagne, the local butcher, grocer, beekeeper, and organic market (every Tuesday) are only a short stroll away. Domaine de Montlaur is the cherished home of a distinguished French family, a member of which (or, alternatively, the property manager) is always on hand to show you around and provide tips on interesting local excursions.
The country estate offers three delightful holiday homes for rent - La Bastide, an elegant apartment for 2-4 people and Pavilion, a modern apartment for 4 people and a larger child-friendly home, La Maison du Village for 7 people with a private pool. All present the unique opportunity of holidaying in a historical country home, with plenty of seclusion and a private patio/garden. The interiors vary greatly - La Bastide is elegant and classic, whilst Pavilion is modern and minimalist. The apartments are tastefully furnished and the beds made up with beautiful white bed linen ... indeed, both have been lavished with considerable love and attention. La Maison du Village has been beautifully renovated with a combination of white wood beam ceilings, terracotta tiles, oak floors and pastel-coloured walls besides the carefully chosen vintage furniture. The garden of this private house was named ‘most beautiful L'Aude garden, 2016’ and the beautiful walled grounds with its cypresses, olive trees and oleanders, are certainly a picture to behold. The garden also boasts the swimming pool and a dining table with BBQ.
The castle garden is a lush, sprawling park of some 2 hectares, brimming with trees, shrubs, plants and flowers. There’s also a shared 6x12-metre swimming pool furnished with sunbeds, outdoor seating and hammocks for the ultimate in rest and relaxation. All in all, truly special holiday accommodation in a lively French village, close to a number of beautiful cities and only an hour's drive from the Mediterranean Sea.
