Il Borgo del Balsamico is a B&B with 11 rooms, in a beautiful 18th -century housevery centrally located in the Italian region of Emilia- Romagna, not far from the cultural and culinary gems Parma, Modena, and Bologna.

It is a family business, where the warm hostess and owners, Cristina and Silvia  will make you feel completely at home. Her parents  are also living in the property . The domain was designed years ago as a country / vacation house, Mr Crotti bought the house for the family in the 70th when he was in Fashion business. In the meantime he bought several old barrels for the production of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia DOP ,which the region is known for, and this is still the major activity of the family. On the attic of the B&B are dozens of barrels of balsamic vinegar with a delicious fragrance. Here you can get a free guided tour where you learn how balsamic vinegar is made and make a tasting! Balsamic Tour and tasting is included in the stay and a small shop is available in the property to buy balsamic.

A stay at Il Borgo del Balsamico includes breakfast, the use of the swimming pool, and the beautiful Italian-style garden, where you can stroll among sweet-smelling flowers and catch a glimpse of a single hare or deer.

The warm and spacious rooms plus the apartment are furnished with a stylish mix of vintage design pieces and art. The interior style stems from the passion of the owners for antiques and modern vintage furniture. The different styles create a very personal and attractive ambiance. All the rooms in the Villa are entitled to Rose ( in the garden there are 125 variety of roses) meanwhile the rooms in the guest house are entitled to italian location like Cortina or Ortigia

Located in the captivating traditional region of Emilia-Romagna, with a variety of culinary, cultural and outdoor activities in the area, Il Borgo del Balsamico is the perfect base for families and couples who want to enjoy peace and privacy but with plenty of exciting day trips at their fingertips. It only takes 20 minutes to drive to the station where the train will bring you in 15 minutes to Bologna, Parma, and Modena and within an hour to Milan and Florence. So, also in spring and autumn, this B&B is a fantastic place for an Italian adventure!

ll Borgo del Balsamico is a charming B&B in a monumental historic house with seven warm, spacious rooms and an apartment in the middle of a large green garden with an inviting swimming pool. A quiet hideaway for families or friends who want to get away from it all and enjoy the calm pace in the Italian countryside.

Layout: 

The domain has several buildings; the nice office/reception and apartment of the hostess, Cristina, an 18th -century country house where three rooms and the apartment are located and the main house where four rooms are located.

The entrance to the country house leads into a shared area with a charming living room, featuring a dining table and a fireplace. From here, a staircase leads to the first floor, where you will find the rooms Cortina, La Piccolina, and Ortigia. Glicine, Magnolia, and Gelsomino have a separate entrance on the eastern side of the country house.

The balsamic vinegar is stored in the attic; here you can get a private tasting tour during your stay.

Opposite the country house is the 18th century main house where the other 5 rooms are located (Dark Lady, Boule de Neige, Reine des Violettes, Gertrude Jekyll and Dalia ). There is an elevator in this building.

The rooms are elegantly furnished; vintage furniture is stylishly combined with Italian design pieces, unique paintings, and artworks. Every room has a fan. Every room is different. 

In the room you will find a Brochure with suggestion (restaurants , place to go and activities from museum to cities and trekking). The team on location will assist you to organize parmiggiano tour in the area or booking restaurants 

Services: 

  • Italian breakfast (homemade cakes/muffins and jams, coffee/tea, cappuccino, yogurt, eggs (from the family’s chickens), erbazzone ( a savory cake ) ham or cheese from the area) is included. In summer, you can savor these delicacies outside while enjoying enchanting vistas of the garden.
  • Guests get a free tour and tasting of the homemade balsamic vinegar
  • Wi-Fi is available everywhere in the house
