Located within walking distance of the village of Vertheuil, amidst the vineyards of the Médoc, is set the small-scale B&B La Nuit et Le Jour. An authentic 19th-century mansion that was renovated over two years and given a contemporary feel. Inside, restored floors and furniture are complemented by vintage finds, second-hand materials - such as the sinks and lighting - and beautiful design pieces by Kartell, Ligne Roset, and Muuto, among others.

The three ensuite bedrooms of the house each have their own character and style. They are equipped with soft and warm colors, old (parquet) floors, decorative fireplaces, rough stone walls, or eye-catching floral wallpaper. Start the day with a breakfast in the shade of the lime trees, stroll through the green garden or enjoy a book by the fireplace in the shared living room in the evening.

La Nuit et Le Jour is also very centrally located for exploring the versatile Médoc peninsula. In the region, you will find numerous wine chateaux that invite you to taste some of the best French wines. In an hour's drive (or let the train take you) you can reach the elegant city of Bordeaux, and within half an hour you can be on the long sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast. More water (sports) can be found in the large freshwater lake of Hourtin and the pristine estuary of the Gironde.
