Located within walking distance of the village of Vertheuil, amidst the vineyards of the Médoc, is set the small-scale B&B La Nuit et Le Jour. An authentic 19th-century mansion that was renovated over two years and given a contemporary feel. Inside, restored floors and furniture are complemented by vintage finds, second-hand materials - such as the sinks and lighting - and beautiful design pieces by Kartell, Ligne Roset, and Muuto, among others.
The three ensuite bedrooms of the house each have their own character and style. They are equipped with soft and warm colors, old (parquet) floors, decorative fireplaces, rough stone walls, or eye-catching floral wallpaper. Start the day with a breakfast in the shade of the lime trees, stroll through the green garden or enjoy a book by the fireplace in the shared living room in the evening.
La Nuit et Le Jour is also very centrally located for exploring the versatile Médoc peninsula. In the region, you will find numerous wine chateaux that invite you to taste some of the best French wines. In an hour's drive (or let the train take you) you can reach the elegant city of Bordeaux, and within half an hour you can be on the long sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast. More water (sports) can be found in the large freshwater lake of Hourtin and the pristine estuary of the Gironde.
La Nuit & Le Jour is a truly private getaway, ideal for a relaxing week between the city, the sea, and delicious wines.
All accommodations in our unique collection meet our high standards in quality, comfort, style and setting. We visit every place, meet the owners and explore the area, so we are sure that you will have a great holiday here!

La Nuit & Le Jour is located within walking distance of the village of Vertheuil, in the heart of the Médoc vineyards. The small village has a restaurant and small supermarket (both about 8 minutes walk).
The Médoc region is known for producing one of France's best wines. The beautiful (80 km-long) wine route "Route des châteaux" is really worth a drive. It starts at Blanquefort and runs all the way to the top of the Médoc peninsula. Even if you are not a wine lover, you will enjoy this idyllic route with breathtaking castles. Vertheuil is close to one of France's largest natural freshwater lakes, Lac d'Hourtin (25 km). The lake is 18 km long and 5 km wide and offers numerous water sports such as kayaking, windsurfing, SUP, sailing, and water skiing, but you can also relax on the beach.
Near Saint-Estèphe (5 km), you will find the Girone Estuary - formed by the confluence of the Dordogne and Garonne rivers. This wild estuary is home to numerous flora and fauna. Along the untouched banks of the estuary, you will still find traditional fishing huts on stilts. City lovers can easily reach the elegant city of Bordeaux (60 km) by car or train.
Do you fancy a day at the beach? You will find various long sandy beaches on the Atlantic coast at a short driving distance, such as Plage du Pin Sec (32 km), Hourtin Plage (34 km), and Lacanau (a well-known surfers' paradise) which is only 55 km away.
The airport of Bordeaux is 55 km away.
La Nuit & Le Jour has an entirely private location in a 1-hectare wooded park in the Médoc countryside. The charming B&B has three double rooms, each with its own personality. The rooms are located on the ground floor and have ensuite bathrooms with a shower and natural care products from the Fer à Cheval brand. The B&B also has beautiful common areas, such as a cozy living room with a lounge area (the fireplace can be lit here on request), a dining room, and a bar.
