Built in 1820, the house was a school, a summer camp, and an artist’s studio, before donning its new avatar of a tranquil residence. It's located in a small village neighboring an open field that offers an idyllic view.
The house is large yet private, both inside and outside. The minimalistic interiors are a country lover’s dream, with double-height ceilings, wooden floors, and white-framed windows bringing in warmth and sunshine. The cross on the facade, an unfinished fresco in one of the classrooms-turned-bedrooms, and the bell are remnants of the house’s rich history. There are 14 rooms spread across three levels, including seven bedrooms, three bathrooms, a dining room, a fully-fitted kitchen, and a library. The fireplaces in the dining and living rooms are perfect for family and friends to cozily gather around a crackling fire during the winter.
The striking building is cocooned by 100-year-old lime trees in a grand garden that encircles the property, with a majestic 15 m-long swimming pool and two ponds lined with water plants. Recharge with a swim, watch the sunset, read a book while sprawled on the grass, or simply enjoy the freeing greenery spread right before you. For some cultural adventures during your peaceful stay, pay a visit to the palatial chateaus and scenic villages in the area. Layout Le Couvent des Ormes (450 m2)
- There is a clear distinction between the public and private areas, with all the bedrooms relegated to the top two floors for privacy.
- On the ground floor, you will find three large living rooms, one with a fireplace and two large sofas.
- The spacious kitchen has all the cooking comforts, with a gas range cooker, electric oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, kitchenaid food processor, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, pots and pans.
- Further you will find the spacious dining room with a fireplace and a 16-seater wooden table.
- The first floor has a large and small bedroom, and a shared bathroom with a walk-in shower and bathtub.
- Also on this floor is the double-height library, stocked with books to enjoy in cosy reading spaces.
- When you go to the top floor, you will find four bedrooms with double beds, and one bedroom with twin beds. There are two shared bathrooms here, one of which has a bathtub. Towels and toiletries are provided in all bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms are a bit smaller and have 1.40m beds.
- You will find one shared WC each on all floors.
- There is a dedicated laundry room with free washing and drying facilities.
Outdoor (7500 m2)
- A fully fenced garden covering an area of 7000 m2 enrobes the front and back of the house. There are tables, chairs, armchairs and an outdoor bed for you to soak in the outdoors.
- The garden has three water bodies, including a long 15m heated swimming pool.
- Open-to-air, 15-seater dining table and a brasero grill that can be used for barbecues.
- There are five free parking spots and a charging station for electric vehicles.
