A narrow country road, lined with carob and olive trees, takes you to a ridge where you will find Rifugio Lanzagallo, overlooking the sea and the southernmost tip of Sicily. The old stone farmhouse (built in typical "Masseria style") has been passionately renovated by the owner Daniela (a Sicilian architect) and transformed into a small-scale B&B, preserving its historical architectural elements (such as stone walls and large arches) and elegantly enhanced with a contemporary design. Rifugio Lanzagallo is all about slow tourism... Daniela invites you to sit back and move at a slower pace. Discover the luxury of nature, individual relaxation and well-being.

The B&B is very spacious and consists of two buildings, one with the reception and breakfast room and the other with five rooms (1-4 p) with terraces and open courtyards. The colors white and black dominate from the window and door frames and the designer lamps to the bedspread and towels. Moreover, wooden details and natural sunlight bring warmth to any room. It is an ideal place for couples or families (with older children) who like leaving behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the tranquility and outdoor life. Start your day with a rich homemade breakfast, stroll through the garden surrounded by aromas of flowers and herbs, spend relaxing hours in the pool or on the sun terrace where you can also take meditation and yoga classes.

Located in the middle of the Val di Noto, you can make day trips to the historical jewels of the island, the towns of Modica, Ispica, Noto, and Ragusa with their amazing Baroque architecture. But also within a short drive, you will find beautiful sandy beaches, nature reserves to hike, and excellent restaurants with typical Sicilian wines and dishes. The friendly and hospitable owners are happy to share their secret addresses with you!

Small-scale B&B with 5 rooms (2-4p) overlooking the sea and the southernmost tip of Sicily

Rifugio Lanzagallo is very quietly located in a rural area a short distance from the town of Modica. The restored farmhouse is divided into two buildings, in the first, you will find the reception and an inviting breakfast room with several tables to enjoy your breakfast and a nice lounge area. The other building has five spacious rooms with terraces and courtyards, spread over two levels. All rooms have beds with anatomical Dorelan® slatted frames and breathable mattresses, air conditioning/heating, a hairdryer, and a minibar. In the bathroom you will find, in addition to towels and bath towels (for the pool), organic shampoo, and shower gel made from natural products from the region.

Wifi internet is available in the breakfast room and the courtyard (outside) with a picnic table. All guests have access to the large garden of the "rifugio" which is filled with colorful flowers, cactus plants, and various herbs as well as to the swimming pool with sun terrace.

In the morning, you are treated with a rich breakfast consisting of a buffet of homemade cakes, Sicilian biscuits, yogurt, fruit salad, jam, and eggs. You will also find ricotta, fresh cheeses, milk, juice, and cereals.

Extra activities:
The owners love nature, art, architecture, photography, literature, music, dance (especially Argentine Tango), and good food! They are happy to share these passions and can organize the following activities for you:

  • Cooking classes and a special dinner with Sicilian specialties
  • Meditation and yoga classes
  • Massages or beauty treatments
  • Exhibitions, courses, and photography-related discussions
  • Readings of Sicilian Poetry and Literature

Furthermore, transfers to and from the airport are available on request.

Children:
Children over 10 years old are very welcome; however, extra beds and baby cots are not available. The domain and pool are not fenced, so it is important to always keep an eye on your children.
