St. Oak is set in a lovingly restored 1912 townhouse on the market square of Kyritz, about ninety minutes north of Berlin. Inside, original character—high ceilings, oak doors, heritage tiles—meets a calm, contemporary aesthetic. From the south-facing rooms and balcony you look onto a centuries-old oak (the house’s namesake), while at the back a hidden garden unfolds like a small secret world of ivy and wild vines, hydrangeas, lavender and oregano, with plum, quince and linden trees. It’s an easygoing base for slow weekends or longer stays, with a swimmable lake about fifteen minutes away by bike and simple train links into Berlin.
