The Cornish Place is set in 26 acres of private grounds in the beautiful Cornish countryside, in South West England. Once an old Victorian farmhouse, the original barn and stables have been carefully renovated and converted into two charming cottages (The Barn and The Stables) and a third cottage (The Dairy Shed) was later built. The cottages are decorated in a modern country style with soothing blue-green tones, exposed wooden beams, wooden tables, contemporary furniture, and some colorful details and paintings.

Each cottage has 2-3 bedrooms with luxurious extras (Egyptian cotton bed linen, organic toiletries, and bathrobes), a living room with a wood-burning stove, and a private kitchen. Bread, groceries, and ready meals can all be taken care of just like a private chef! You can fully enjoy the outdoors in your private garden with a barbecue, fire pit, and, as a highlight, your own wood-fired hot tub! Rightly, The Cornish Place is proud to have just received an award for "Best Boutique Stay" in the Cornwall Muddy Stilettos Awards 2023. 

In addition to relaxed private areas, there is a lovely communal courtyard and a picnic area on the hill with a gorgeous view. The Piggery is a cozy meeting place with daily cakes or ice cream - a treat for dinner - but the space is also used for massages, yoga, or as a chill-out area on a rainy day. Elsewhere on the grounds, the Woodshed Gym invites you for a workout, and there's a fantastic playing field for kids. Being a dog-friendly destination, you can also bring your well-behaved four-legged friend. 

If you fancy a day out, there are several alluring sandy beaches on the north and south coasts just a 20-minute drive away with opportunities for paddle boarding, surfing, and swimming. But also walks in the green hills, or a visit to the coastal towns of St. Ives or Penzance with their lively harbors, charming streets, and traditional pubs (for a drink or fish & chips), are perfect options for a day out.

Lovely stay with 3 holiday homes near Stithians, England

The Cornish Place features attractive cottages that surround a central courtyard. The courtyard together with a communal room (The Piggery) serve as a meeting place, for example when you come back from a day at the beach and to catch up with other guests over a drink in the evening. On warm days you can sit outside around the fire pits. In the Piggery you will find tea and cake (included) every day, as well as a range of board games, books, and puzzles. The Piggery is also used for massages, treatments, or yoga classes (on request). There is an outdoor picnic area, complete with rugs and blankets, at the top of the grounds with views for miles. Sporty guests can use the Woodshed Gym - a micro-gym with a state-of-the-art Peloton bike and rowing machine.

Cottages @ The Cornish Place

  • The cottages have underfloor heating throughout, a wood-burning stove in the lounge, and a fully equipped kitchen.
  • They have 2-3 bedrooms - for 4-6 people - and a baby cot can be added. The beds are made with Egyptian cotton bed linen and down anti-allergy duvets.
  • In the bathrooms, you will find toiletries from the local organic brand Boomtown and waffle bathrobes (for adults). Bath and beach towels are also provided.
  • The cottages are equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth speakers, and Smart TV.
  • Each cottage has a private garden with a wood-fired hot tub or outdoor bathtub, fire pit, and barbecue. Firewood is provided.

Kids @ The Cornish Place

Children are very welcome and will find plenty of activities to keep them busy inside and out:

  • There is a playing field with a football goal, rugby and netball posts, and associated balls
  • There is also a ping pong table in the courtyard and plenty of space for children to go on an adventure in a car-free environment.
  • There is a beach box (near the parking lot) with buckets and spades, kites, and crab lines.
  • Children are also welcome (on request) to meet the animals at The Cornish Place
  • In the Piggery they will find books, toys, and puzzles
  • High chairs and wooden cots can be provided and a babysitter can be arranged at an extra cost (subject to availability).

Dogs @ The Cornish Place

All the cottages are dog-friendly and there is a dedicated dog walking field (2 acres) on-site where dogs can run off-leash.

The following facilities for dogs can be offered on request:

  • Dog crates in different sizes, bins, treats, and a dog sitter
  • If you are bringing a dog there is an additional cleaning charge of £50 per week per cottage
