"Barbanera - Casa Giardino" (The Garden House) was formerly a simple stone building on the edge of the town walls. The house has been completely re-designed and restored in a fresh contemporay style. The atmosphere is characterized by serenity combined with modern facilities, comfort and excellent quality... but the largest extravaganza of the villa is its lavish garden with a swimming pool and breathtaking views over the hills of Umbria. When outside you can smell the fragrances of rosemary, sage, thyme and lavender...

As with her two other Spello based properties, owner Andrea Falkner has managed to create yet another "a home away from home" feeling for her guests. For the interior, Andrea has combined an interesting color palate with good materials and beautiful accessories from different parts of the world, creating a distinctly tasteful atmosphere... You will find designer beds, Moroccan rugs, double rain showers and soft grey floors.

The house has three one-of-a kind bedroom "suites", each of them has an ensuite bathroom, a tasteful open living space and a fully equipped kitchen with a washing machine.

The villa has air-conditioning and can offer extra services. This is truly a lovely holiday get-away on a unique spot; a short walk will take you to the village square, where you can dine at plenty of good restaurants or have a drink in one of the cozy wine bars.

Evenings in Spello

Just a short walk from Barbanera, the heart of Spello comes alive. Enjoy dinner in small trattorias or a glass of organic wine at Vinosofia, where every sip feels like home.

A garden of scents

Around the pool, the air is filled with rosemary, sage, and lavender. Here, time slows as the hills of Umbria fade into the soft light of evening.

Light and stillness

The kitchen opens to the garden in soft tones and natural textures, a bright space where morning light and calm design meet in quiet harmony.

An amazing place, you imagine yourself in the old times of Spello. You can 'just' walk up into the old streets for a delicious cup of coffee or dinner. The streets are very steep, so you have to be a ...

Chic, cheerful and modern townhouse on the edge of the walls of Spello

This villa in Spello is truly a sight to behold...Things don’t get much better than this… your own holiday home on the outskirts of a beautiful village with a private pool, located in a serene setting plus an extremely tasteful design...

"Casa Giardino" (The Garden House)

The light, open kitchen/ding-living room:

  • A practical, smartly designed room with a kitchen and a dining corner with a table that seats 6 - 8 persons to the right side. The kitchen has a gas stove, an oven, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine and everything else you could think of for cooking a good meal.
  • To the left side of the suite you will see a comfortable sofa lined with aged linen and pretty cushions...and hidden behind an ancient door, you will find the flat screen satellite TV.  The floors are kept in soft grey tomes and the room has green accents.

Three luxury bedrooms:

  • A small staircase will lead you to the master bedroom on the first floor, which offers marvelous views of the garden and the surrounding landscape. This bedroom has a king-size bed by Minotti, the curtains are made from delicate Indian cotton and a lovely Moroccan rug covers the floor. The ensuite bathroom is modern, simple yet classy with a double rain shower, toilet and bidet
  • On the ground floor, which has a private entrance, you will find the "blue" room: cool white walls, old terracotta floors, blue accents, rich fabrics and a king-size bed by Gervasoni. The ensuite bathroom also has a double rain shower, toilet plus an antique marble washbasin.
  • The "yellow" room, which is located one level below the "blue” room can be reached via a broad stone stairway. This is a lovely, serene room with a king-size bed by FLOU and charming little side tables by Gervasoni. The colors yellow and green compete for attention with souvenirs that Andrea brought home from Laos, Cambodia and Burma. This room also has a compete bathroom with a shower and a toilet

The Garden House is not suitable for small children as the rooms are not connected. The Kitchen and Living area is on the first floor, the master bedroom is on the mezzanine, the Blue and Yellow rooms are accessible only from the garden. Perfect setting for families with teenagers or for a group of friends, as every room has its private entrance and plenty of privacy. Additionally, there is airconditioning in the bedrooms, the living and the kitchen.

The garden:

Umbria enjoys an excellent climate and life is mostly lived outdoors; eating, relaxing and reading are favorite pastimes after a long day of exploring the region. The Garden House offers the ideal setting: a lawn with inviting lounge places, a small but very tasteful natural stone swimming pool (6 big 3 m), leafy trees that offer plenty of shade and vintage garden furniture. Enjoy the magnificent views over the Chiona valley. No sound, no traffic, just the vast beauty of the natural Italian landscape!!!

In the spotlight:

  • Airconditioning
  • Central heating and floor heating
  • Wi-Fi inside the house as well as the garden
  • Washing machine
  • Luxurious bed linens and bath towels
