This former hay barn was recently renovated with care by the Belgian owners, Barbara and Tom, and transformed into an attractive holiday apartment for 4 people.
Inside, various original elements have been preserved, such as the vaulted stone ceilings, old wooden doors, and terracotta tiled floors, and are complemented by a contemporary and minimalist interior with some design pieces and black details that give the whole a chic touch.
Downstairs is an ensuite bedroom for 4 people and upstairs is the warm open-plan living room with a uniquely designed light pink kitchenette and a wood stove for warm evenings in the colder months. The living room is connected to a covered outdoor terrace overlooking the valley. The highlight of Torre Glicine is the mezzanine floor with a modern freestanding bath and lounge chair by Le Corbusier. This is the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing.
On the 4-hectare grounds around the apartment, you will find a swimming pool (3 x 7 m), a barbecue, and an outdoor table under a pergola covered in wisteria (the 'glicine' after which the house is named), for your outdoor meals. An adventurous treehouse is certainly the favorite of all the children.
Torre Glicine is an ideal starting point to explore the versatile region. Go hiking or cycling, visit the wine villages of Barolo, Barbaresco, or the gourmet town of Alba, known for its white truffle. For full-day trips you can choose from the alluring cities of Turin and Genoa, the beaches of Noli and Varigotti on the Ligurian Riviera, or the Maritime Alps which attracts you with its fantastic hiking trails in summer and numerous skiing opportunities in winter.

Authentic villa for 4 persons in quiet location in northern Italy
Torre Glicine is an authentic building (of two floors) that has been carefully restored and can accommodate 4 people. It is located on large private grounds (4 ha) in a quiet area in the countryside of the northern Italian province of Piemonte.
It is an ideal place for a family with (older) children who would like to discover the versatile environment of the Langhe (up to the Ligurian coast) and use Torre Glicine as a comfortable home base. If you come with two couples, please note that the two beds are only separated by a curtain.
Torre Glicine is a new and ongoing project of the Belgian owners, Barbara and Tom, who are still working to make this place even more beautiful.
Layout Torre Glicine | 140m2 | 4 people
- The entrance to the apartment is on the ground floor.
- Here you will find an ensuite bedroom with 2 double beds, one with a queen-size mattress (160x200cm) and the other with two single mattresses (90x200cm). The beds are separated by a curtain. The ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower, sink, and toilet.
- On the first floor is an open-plan living room with a dining table, wood stove, and designer kitchenette with a refrigerator, 3-burner gas hob, Bialetti coffee maker, and toaster. Sliding doors in the living area open onto the covered balcony with stairs leading down.
- On a mezzanine floor (with wonderful views) stand a modern freestanding bath and a designer lounge chair.
- In the storage room, you will find a second refrigerator, microwave, and washing machine.
- There is also a small wine cellar with a selection of the region's wines.
Outside:
- On the property where the apartment is located, you will find a swimming pool (3 x 7 m, available only during the summer), an outdoor barbecue, and a dining table under a pergola. There is also a hammock and a treehouse. Great fun for children!
- There are two parking spaces.
Extra information:
- There is no television and WiFi internet (4G coverage is available), but there are board games for a pleasant family evening.
