Before we dive into the details, can you briefly introduce yourself and your family members?

My name is Renaud Rousselet, I am 33 years old, and I am the owner of Villa Georges, located in Rochefort, Belgium. Together with my good friend, interior designer Amélie Jacob, who is also 33 years old and based in Brussels, we created this unique accommodation. Villa Georges is the result of our joint efforts and passion for the craft.

We would like to share a bit about you as a person with our customers. Would you tell us more about yourself?

After working for 10 years as a financial manager at a communications agency, I decided to turn my life around. Family and sharing quality moments are now at the center of my life. I love renovating houses and providing hospitality. My goal is to allow my guests to experience the beauty of my home region while sharing valuable moments with my family and friends.

When and how did the accommodation come into your life, and what motivated you to make it a part of your life?

Villa Georges, a 19th-century building at the gates of the Belgian Ardennes, was transformed by interior designer Amélie Jacob. This former notary house, located 90 minutes from Brussels, breathes history and has retained the minimalist style of the 1950s and 1960s. It is situated in the city center, close to local restaurants, bars, and shops. Since 2020, I have been the proud owner of this special villa.

Can you tell us more about the process of renovating and furnishing your accommodation?

The renovation of the 350 square meter villa was a challenging but inspiring process! With great enthusiasm, Amélie and I combined our ideas to create a unique place. We wanted to break the traditional norms of the region and create an environment that invites togetherness and enjoyment. The renovation took a year and a half, and our efforts led to a perfect interplay of comfort, modernity, and respect for the villa’s authentic elements.

What makes your accommodation truly special for you? Are there special memories or moments that make it particularly dear to you?

What makes Villa Georges special for me is the combination of comfort, modernity, and authenticity. The carefully planned renovation work has given the villa a new look while the structure and colors have been thoughtfully selected to preserve its historical charm. It’s a place where families and friends can come together in a unique and atmospheric environment.

How would you describe the atmosphere and interior of your accommodation?

Each of the four rooms in Villa Georges has its own unique identity, ranging from powder pink to deep black and forest green, which, in my opinion, invites well-being and relaxation.

Which part of your accommodation do you find the most beautiful, and why?

In the boudoir lounge, we found a fully restored original pink velvet sofa and armchairs, along with XXL floral wallpaper and crystal glassware. This part of the villa has a special charm and creates a unique atmosphere.

What makes the location of your accommodation unique and special?

With its vintage-inspired furniture and contemporary pieces, Villa Georges immediately immerses us in the past. A former notary house is steeped in history and infused with the minimalist style of the '50s and '60s. It is located in the city center, just a stone's throw from local restaurants, bars, and shops.

In what ways does your accommodation stand out from others? What unique features make it an unforgettable experience for guests?

A head full of ideas, the courage to break the traditional norms of the region, and the desire to create a unique place.
