My name is Enric, a 54-year-old entrepreneur from Barcelona. I am married to Carme, an interior designer who has taken care of the design of our home, Mas Pla de Calabuig. Together, we have three beautiful children with whom we share a lot of love and common passions.

As a former semi-professional footballer with Girona, I have a great passion for sports. Every day, I cycle to work through the Collserola Natural Park in Barcelona. Professionally, I am active in the printing industry. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and we love to host guests at home, even during holidays, to enjoy the warmth and the sea.

When and how did the property come into your life, and what motivated you to make it a part of your life?

We discovered Mas Pla de Calabuig six years ago and fell in love immediately. We decided to buy the property and spent a lot of time renovating it, both inside and out. The result is an exceptional estate that has been praised in leading architecture and interior design magazines across Europe.

Can you tell us more about the process of renovating and decorating your property?

The renovation was a slow and careful process, with much attention paid to logic and harmony. Carme and our office team guided the progress daily. We gathered unique pieces from all over Europe, with a preference for local artisans. The result is a unique property, named by The Times as one of the 20 wonders of the Costa Brava.

What makes your property truly special to you? Are there any special memories or moments that make it particularly dear to you?

Mas Pla de Calabuig is special because it radiates shared happiness. Christmas 2020 was particularly magical for our family, with Santa Claus making our children's dreams come true. Only Mas Pla could provide such magic and joy.

Mas Pla de Calabuig spans 5 hectares of gardens, meadows, farmland, and forest in the peaceful region of Empordà (Girona). It offers luxury in simplicity, with careful and unique decor that exudes a sense of peace and tranquility. It is a place where you can enjoy doing nothing and let time pass by.

What part of your property do you find the most beautiful, and why?

It's difficult to choose just one specific part, but the Summer Lounge is particularly special. It’s the perfect place to relax with an aperitif, read a book, or take a nap, surrounded by beautiful scenery.

What makes the location of your property unique and special?

The Empordà region is a privileged environment with medieval towns, natural parks, beautiful beaches, and Mediterranean cuisine with Michelin-starred restaurants. Mas Pla is located 20 minutes from the beaches, Girona, and the Dali Museum in Figueres, with a unique Mediterranean garden, meadows, and a forest that are all lovingly maintained.

Are there any sustainable or eco-friendly practices associated with your property that you are proud of?

Yes, we have native plants in the garden that require little water and use drip irrigation. We are also proud of our green electricity production with 11 kW of solar energy.

What motivated or inspired you to rent your property to guests?

The happiness that Mas Pla brings to our loved ones inspired us to share it with others. We wanted more people to enjoy this special place.
