David and Annemie Costermans, a Belgian family with three students, purchased a dilapidated estate in Lucca, Tuscany, in 2018, which they carefully renovated. Their accommodation offers a serene escape with breathtaking views, combining historic charm and modern finishes. With sustainable elements such as solar panels, Casa di Tramito, a luxury vacation home, is ideally located near Lucca and the Versilian coast. Their goal is to allow guests to enjoy peace, nature, and culture, providing tips for an unforgettable holiday.
We are David and Annemie Costermans, a family with three students. We live in Belgium.
We are active in residential project development, villa construction, and residential apartments in Belgium. Our company can be found at www.Costermans-projecten.be. We enjoy spending time with family and friends, love nature, scenic views, the sea, and dining out.
We rented in Lucca, Tuscany, for five years before buying a property. We were looking for a place to create a second home for our family and to gather with friends. We purchased this estate in 2018, which was completely dilapidated. The location appealed to us greatly due to its tranquility and beautiful views. There is no traffic noise, just pure nature, yet it is only a 15-minute drive or bike ride to the center of Lucca.
Since the entire area is protected, we tried to maintain its historical appearance as much as possible. On the other hand, we chose to provide a contemporary finish inside. In the basement, on the ground floor, and in some bedrooms, there are original old terracotta floors; other bedrooms feature herringbone parquet. All furniture is of high quality.
The breathtaking view over the valley and the city of Lucca, the beautiful pergola where you can relax after a delightful lunch or dinner, and the surrounding olive trees, vineyards, and forests make it truly special for us. It’s pure nature.
Contemporary and warm, with top-quality materials.
I think the pergola, because of the wonderful moments and views you can enjoy there.
The location is easily accessible with numerous options and variations for activities. It’s just 15 minutes from the center of Lucca, a vibrant walled city that is pleasant to stay in. Additionally, it’s 45 minutes from the Versilian coast (Viareggio, Forte Dei Marmi, Pisa, etc.), 1 hour and 15 minutes from Florence, and 1 hour and 30 minutes from Siena.
Yes, we utilize an air heat pump for heating and cooling, solar panels, water recovery systems, a pool cover, and an air heat pump for the pool. All lighting is, of course, LED.
On the estate, we have two homes and a concierge residence. Casa di Tramito was the first house to be completed. Now that our main residence is finished, Casa di Tramito is available for rental. Both homes are sufficiently distanced from each other and each have their own amenities, including a private pool.
Guests can expect peace, the enjoyment of nature, culinary excursions, sea activities, and cultural experiences during their stay.
We rented for five years and never found the comfort we were looking for. Casa di Tramito meets our wishes and those of a demanding clientele. The well-equipped kitchen with all necessary amenities, beautiful bathrooms, comfortable beds, Royal Botania loungers by the pool, and stunning terrace tables are some of the features that make the stay unforgettable.
So far, we have only received 5-star reviews, so all compliments have been positive.
In July, the Lucca Summer Festival takes place with concerts in the center of Lucca. We have an extensive list of tips for excursions and things to do that we provide to our clients.
