Maison La Fugue
I am Isabelle, founder of Maison La Fugue. I am 54 and the happy mother of a 16-year-old boy. My partner Jean-Michel and I form a beautiful blended family of 6—or 8 if we include our two cat ladies! I am Parisian, born and raised in Paris, but driven by a family history rich in multiple cultures. I have worked for 30 exciting years in the trade show industry. I am passionate about the quality of exchanges and personal development, and I am also an enthusiastic and dedicated yogini.
After managing trade shows—ephemeral spaces where connections are made and projects are born—I wanted to create a space that offers these same opportunities, but in a more intimate setting. I have always been convinced that a beautiful environment is essential to building unforgettable memories. It was this conviction that drove me to create La Fugue, a comfortable and welcoming country house designed to accommodate stays that combine practicality with the need to disconnect.I initiated the project in 2023 and wanted to establish it in Provence, where we often go. For family reasons, I shifted the project to the Île-de-France region, where not only my family but also all my connections are. I was lucky to find a house with a Provençal feel, with its stone walls and blue shutters. When I first visited the house, I knew I had found the perfect place.
Having worked in the events industry for all these years, I am used to project management and tight, precise retro-planning. From the acquisition of the house until its opening, I managed the work and the layout with respect for the schedule and attention to every detail. I chose each color, each piece of furniture, and each object with great care. The house was fitted out and decorated as if to receive friends.I love the Matisse-style panoramic wallpaper in the living room, which echoes the Provençal feel of La Fugue. With its lush vegetation, stone walls, and blue shutters, Maison La Fugue transports you to the South… just 45 minutes from Paris!
Maison La Fugue is an old farmhouse. This unique space combines the character of old stone with a carefully crafted renovation, designed to accommodate up to 14 guests in discreet comfort. The interiors combine rural chic with eclectic design, featuring authentic materials, furniture from the Spanish brands The Masie Design and Sklum, vintage finds, and bold wall art from La Touche Originale. The ambiance is warm, full of character, and unmistakably French. 😊`
I had the opportunity to work on my ikigai (a philosophy born in Japan whose principle is to find one's "reason for living"), and this reflection naturally led me to the desire to create a meeting place—caring, comfortable, aesthetic—where people feel good to work, create, rest, and spend quality time with colleagues, friends, and family.Being a host is not a career change but an extension of my job as a trade show organizer.
I share this fantastic feedback I received from one of my guests:
“La Fugue, this little corner of paradise, calm and serene, beautiful and refined...
La Fugue, this quaint setting where we love to stroll, relax, bask, and recharge...
La Fugue, this magnificent building so close to the Île-de-France region and yet so far from our daily lives...
La Fugue, I was happy to be there...
La Fugue, I swam there with pleasure...
La Fugue, I continue to think about it with envy...
Thank you and congratulations to you, Isabelle, for building this beautiful place, this ideal setting for any team seminar, any wellness retreat, or any family reunion. I will return (I hope soon) with great pleasure!”
They can enjoy the large kitchen-diner with its huge bay window overlooking the trees, the living room with its large fireplace, or, outside, the wooden terrace by the swimming pool—ideal for a drink at the end of the day.La Fugue also enjoys a preserved rural environment, punctuated by beautiful discoveries. In the village itself, you'll find a 16th-century church, an ancient fountain with a washhouse, and a farm that offers fruit and vegetable picking. In the surrounding area, the Yvelines châteaux, the meanders of the Seine, and the GR26 hiking trails offer wonderful getaways. Between forests, ancient villages, and cycle paths, the region retains a rare authenticity, ideal for those who like to explore…
