In the historic center of Carovigno, not far from Ostuni, is set Casa Lagilda - an architectural jewel that captures the soul of Puglia in color, texture, and light. Designed by Studio Luca Baldazzi, the house provides a seamless harmony of space, calmness, and Mediterranean flair.
Built around an “archipelago concept”, Casa Lagilda is composed of a series of independent rooms, each with its own personality, connected by patios, terraces, and gardens. Where one space offers shade and serenity, another opens into sunlight and soft hues of pink, terracotta, and sand. Everything flows together inside and out, merging as one.
Natural materials define the aesthetic, with polished cement, handcrafted plaster, and Spanish tiles creating a tactile softness. The pink accents - from the round metal entrance door to the window frames and stairs - subtly echo the sun-faded shutters of traditional village homes.
With 150m² of interior space and an equal amount of outdoor space, Casa Lagilda offers a true sense of openness and intimacy simultaneously. The patio, terraces, and green-tiled plunge pool (surrounded by tropical plants) form a tranquil oasis. Indoors, every detail feels curated. The living room, with its green sofa and vaulted white walls, radiates calm; the kitchen, tiled in warm terracotta, is the vibrant heart of the home - a place for coffee and conversation, set to the slow rhythm of the day. The three en-suite bedrooms (sleeping six) each have their own unique spirit and tone, ranging from deep reds and earthy neutrals to soft sandy shades.
Carovigno lies in the heart of Puglia, a region of centuries-old olive groves, whitewashed towns, and warm southern hospitality. Within twenty minutes, you can reach the beaches of Torre Santa Sabina and Costa Merlata, or explore the pristine dunes and lagoons of Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve — a paradise for nature lovers and those seeking peace by the sea.
