Il Cannito, what an amazing place! A small boutique hotel with only four rooms in the heart of the Cilento region south of Naples, and just ten kilometers from a private beach with sun beds and umbrellas.

The terraces and gorgeous infinity pool have breathtaking views of the surrounding hilltops. If you're lucky, you might even see the lights of the glamorous island of Capri sparkling in the sea.

The Italian owners are warm, friendly, and have a passion for cooking, what you will notice every morning at the generous breakfast or at lunch or dinner meals that are filled with exquisite flavors and aromas.

The rustic, rugged stone walls outside and the calm white, blue and brown colors inside create a chic monastery vibe while pieces of contemporary art enhance the eclectic interiors of Il Cannito. The rooms are immaculately clean and feature well-built beds, free standing wooden cabinets, cone-shaped lamps and soft linens. Each room is equipped with the latest technologies such as an LCD TV, work desk, minibar, air conditioning and floor heating. Large windows, full-length mirrors, and breathtaking hillside views exalt a serene atmosphere and create practically no barriers between the inside and outside.

The largest rooms, Sole and Terra, are located on the hill below the main building and can be reached via a winding wooden staircase, which is pleasantly lit at night. Both rooms can make use of a furnished stone terrace that surrounds an old oak tree. Sole has, in addition, its own sun terrace with loungers. The two slightly smaller rooms, Mare and Luna, are situated in the main building, above the dining area.

Three rooms boast bathrooms with a state-of-the-art hydro massage bath, the fourth, Luna, has a shower with hydro jets instead. All rooms are, in effect, luxury “wellness” rooms where guest also have a hairdryer, spa towels, slippers and toiletries at their disposal.

Food @ Il Cannito

Anna Maria is a chef with 30 years of experience and a passion for regional dishes. She uses secret family recipes with seasonal ingredients that are freshly bought or harvested from the family's organic garden daily. They are also the base for her homemade jam, compote, and fruit liqueurs. The lunch and dinner menus – which include fish, vegetarian, and meat options - change every day and are served on the terrace or in the dining room. The complimentary breakfast is a generous variety of squeezed juice, yogurt, fruit, cereals, freshly baked bread, toast with mozzarella and pancetta, or bacon and eggs.

If you want to eat out, there is an excellent pizza restaurant and two agritourism farms in Capaccio, four kilometers away, and several beachfront restaurants nearby.

Children are welcome from the age of ten here. They can swim in the pool and play hide and seek in the hilly gardens. Cots, extra beds, and childcare are available on request.
