In the midst of the lush Spanish Castellón hills, a 30-minute drive from the Mediterranean Sea, there is a small private road that leads to a vast land of almond and olive trees. At the center of this all, is the architectural brainchild of Dutch artist Xander Spronken. It is a living sculpture of concrete, wood, iron, and glass. Six-meter-high columns are connected to wooden beams, the spaces in between are filled with huge frameless glass panels that blur the boundaries between inside and outside.
In the villa, you seem to be in an art museum, with large bright open spaces and artworks. But it is much more than that. Despite the minimalist interior and the impressive huge windows, there is a warm and peaceful atmosphere.
The two houses are almost identical and placed separately from each other. One towards the east and one towards the west, giving you sufficient privacy. Striking in the interior is the modern and fully equipped kitchen. Here you can enjoy a cup of coffee at the bar. Outside on your private terrace you have plenty of space for a great outdoor experiences. Read a book in the lounge chair, enjoy an al-fresco dinner with fresh fish from the (built-in) bbq. The pool is a great refreshment and it is a real pleasure to spend the day in and around the house. Here you can enjoy the sounds of nature and fall in love with the marvelous sunsets.
The environment is still of an unprecedented beauty, lies on the southern border of Catalonia and is also called the ‘Tuscany of Spain’. Visit friendly hillside villages, drive between olive and almond groves where shepherds herd their cattle, take a walk in the nearby nature reserve. Valencia is an hour's drive to the south.
Spronken House is an impressive piece of architecture in a magnificent unspoiled environment. In addition, the houses are eco-friendly, operate on solar energy and are heated by a heat pump.

Architecture @ Spronken House:
Xander Spronken loves "pure things" and that is reflected in the architecture of this villa. Six-meter-high concrete columns greet guest on the estate. Raw concrete, unpainted wooden beams, wrought iron hinges and frames, and panels of glass are the essential elements of the house that are visible everywhere. The open and lofty design offers air and space in the noblest sense while the play of light contributes to the warm atmosphere.
It is not permitted to take photos or videos of/at/in the villa(s) and/or the grounds for commercial purposes, commercial use or purposes other than private use without prior express written permission from the owner (SpronkenHouse). Different rates apply for a photo shoot at the SpronkenHouse
