Meet the people behind the place: Moonhouse Paros

When Christiane first set foot on the land that would become Moonhouse, she instantly felt its calling. Built with deep respect for nature and using stones from the mountain itself, Moonhouse grew gently from the earth, preserving its surroundings and the spirit of the land. Every detail reflects Christiane’s love and dedication — a place where minimalism meets warmth, and where the tranquil energy of Paros can truly be felt.

What is the name of your accommodation?

MOONHOUSE PAROS

Could you introduce yourself and share a bit about your life, such as your interests, hobbies, or background?

Hello! My name is Christiane, owner and designer of Moonhouse. I am Dutch and have been living in Greece, in Paros, for 17 years. I used to work in Amsterdam as a fashion merchandiser and in high-end jewellery. Now, on the island, I work with clay and create ceramic sculptures.

How did your property become part of your life? When did it happen, and what inspired or motivated you to take it on?

I was called by the land. Somebody showed me the land and I knew this was it — the place to build and share my vision.

What was the process of creating your property like? Tell us about renovating, furnishing, or styling it.

We started by digging and excavating the mountain, and slowly built the houses using the stones from the excavation. We preserved the mountain and the surrounding nature as much as we could. The interior has lots of personal items, and the guests love that!
What makes your property truly special to you? Do you have any favorite spots, cherished memories, or personal touches that make it dear to your heart?
It’s a vision come true, a legacy built with pure love. It's nature, the sunsets, the moon views, and the sound of the sheep’s bells — it feels like meditation.
How would you describe the atmosphere and interior of your property?
Moonhouse is minimal and very cosy at the same time. It’s a modern house with vintage and handcrafted items. Japandi is our style.
Are there any sustainable or eco-friendly applications associated with your property that you are proud of?
It’s surrounded by nature and the land has an amazing energy, with an old wine press and a wild garden filled with local herbs. We also have solar panels.

What motivated or inspired you to rent your property to guests?

To share the beauty and energy of the land!
What can guests expect when staying at your accommodation? Share the experience, the highlights, and perhaps the best compliment you’ve received from past guests.
They can expect a very peaceful stay. They will enjoy the sunrise and sunset at their best and create memories in a private setting, yet only ten minutes away from the lively villages. They will have the time and space to reconnect with themselves again.

“Moonhouse in Paros is stunning! I recently stayed there with a group of friends, and we absolutely loved our stay. The experience was so tranquil. The design of the house is exceptional — the first thing I noticed is that the property is far bigger than it looks online. So much love and attention to detail have been put into the entire property, full of amenities. The views are incredibly picturesque, and every sunrise and sunset was a joy to behold. The house was luxurious, and the pool was out of this world! Communication with the owner was perfect. I will stay in touch as I can’t wait to come back to Moonhouse in the future!”
What do you hope guests will take away from their stay, and do you have any special tips or recommendations to make their holiday unforgettable?
We offer many experiences, such as horseback riding, cooking classes, and boat trips. I also offer, on request, an Intuitive Ceramic Workshop.
