Can you start by sharing the name of your accommodation?

Sure! Our accommodation is called La Cabane du Moulin.

Before we dive into the details, could you briefly introduce yourself and your family?

Of course. We are a French family living on the southwest coast, close to the ocean. My name is Greg, I’m 40 years old and I work as a chef. My partner, Amelie, is 35 and she’s an art therapist. We have a son named Roman, who is 5 years old. He keeps us on our toes!

We’d love to learn more about you as a person. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

We like spending our time outdoors, especially at the beach with friends. Surfing and just relaxing are our go-to activities. We also enjoy walking in the Basque Country, which is quite close to where we live. Cooking is a big part of our life too, and we often have guests over to share meals.

When did this property come into your life, and what motivated you to make it a part of your journey?

About five years ago, we came across this property. It was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. From the moment we saw it, we knew it was the right place for us. We wanted a home that was surrounded by nature and not too far from the beach, and this place fit that perfectly.

Can you tell us more about the renovation process and how you furnished your property?

We didn’t really do a full renovation. Instead, we built a swimming pool and a wooden cabin close to the house, right in the forest. As for the furniture, Amelie enjoys finding vintage pieces from second-hand shops, which really adds character to the space.

On a personal level, what makes your property truly special for you?

For us, it’s the place where we gather with family and friends. We love sharing meals and having good times together. Those shared moments are what make it truly special.

How would you describe the atmosphere and interior of your property?

The interior has a **bohemian chic style**. We wanted it to feel inviting and comfortable, with a touch of creativity that reflects our personalities.

Which part of your property do you love the most, and why?

I really enjoy the area around the swimming pool. It’s peaceful there, surrounded by the forest. You can hear the birds and occasionally see squirrels. It’s a nice spot to relax and unwind.

What makes the location of your accommodation unique and special?

Being located in the middle of the forest gives our property a unique charm. It offers a sense of seclusion and tranquility that’s hard to find elsewhere. It’s a nice escape from everyday life.

Are there any sustainable or eco-friendly practices you’ve implemented in your property?

Yes, we try to be mindful of sustainability. For the new wooden cabin, we used second-hand materials as much as possible. It’s a good way to minimize waste while adding a bit of history to the space.

What inspired you to rent your property to guests?

We wanted to share the beauty of our home with others. It’s important to us that our guests have a place to relax and escape from their routines, and we hope they find that here.

Can you paint a vivid picture of the overall experience someone can expect when staying at your property?

Guests can expect a peaceful experience, with plenty of opportunities to connect with nature. Mornings by the pool, walks in the forest, and just enjoying the quiet surroundings are what it’s all about here.

What makes your property stand out from others? Any unique features or characteristics?

Being in the forest really sets us apart. It provides a unique atmosphere that’s different from typical accommodations. Guests often comment on how special it feels to be surrounded by nature.

What’s the best compliment you’ve received from a guest?

One guest told us it’s a unique place with beautiful decor. It’s nice to hear that because we’ve put a lot of thought into creating a welcoming environment.

What do you hope guests will take away from their stay at your accommodation?

We hope they leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Enjoying the nature around the house and having a good time is what we want for our guests.

Do you have any recommendations for guests to fully enjoy their holiday?

We provide a welcome booklet with local tips and attractions. The Basque Country is nearby, and San Sebastian is a fantastic city to explore, known for its great restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. We also recommend renting electric fat bikes to ride to the beach; it’s a fun way to explore the area with family.
