Norway through the eyes of the Nice2stay team
Our Norway is...
The Western Fjords
Towering cliffs, emerald waters, the sound of cascading waterfalls – the fjords of Western Norway are an exercise in awe.
Places like Sognefjord, Hardangerfjord, and Geirangerfjord offer more than just dramatic views; they offer perspective. Here, you might stay in a contemporary cabin with floor-to-ceiling glass, where the outside world becomes part of your living room.
Spend your days hiking, kayaking, or doing absolutely nothing – just watching the way the light shifts across the mountains.
Lofoten & Northern Norway
Above the Arctic Circle, the world becomes quieter, wilder – and strangely magnetic. The Lofoten Islands are one of our favourite discoveries: jagged peaks rising straight from the sea, white-sand beaches at the edge of snow, and rust-red fisherman’s cabins now turned into intimate guesthouses.
There is magic here – in the midnight sun, in the softness of a snowy morning, in the long dinners where time disappears. It’s the edge of the world, and it feels like home.
Oslo & the surrounding forests
We love Oslo for its understated cool: design-savvy, green-minded, and set between fjord and forest. A place where you can enjoy a pastry at a local bakery, wander into a world-class museum, and be swimming in a lake an hour later.
It’s a perfect place to begin or end your journey – a gentle introduction to the Norwegian rhythm of life: calm, clean, and quietly confident.
Why Nice2stay feels at home here
Norway reflects everything we care about at Nice2stay: connection to nature, meaningful design, and a certain kind of stillness that stays with you.
Our Norway collection includes contemporary cabins and waterfront lodges – each with their own character and story. While we haven’t visited every property in person yet (that’s our aim), we choose them with care.
We speak with the owners, understand their vision, and look for places that align with our values: authenticity, warmth, and a deep sense of place.
These are not just accommodations – they are spaces that invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and feel rooted. Whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, or with your family, you’ll find something here that resonates.
When to go
Each season in Norway tells its own story:
– Spring: Melting snow, powerful waterfalls, the return of light
– Summer: Endless days, wild swimming, alpine picnics
– Autumn: Fiery colours, quiet trails, and cosy evenings
– Winter: Silence, snowfall, star-filled skies – and maybe the northern lights
Our travel philosophy for Norway
– Don’t rush: Let the journey unfold slowly.
– Pack for layers, not looks: Weather shifts – that’s part of the charm.
– Embrace remote: The most memorable places are often the hardest to reach.
– Live simply: Cook over fire, gather around a table, savour the moment.
– Stay with soul: Choose places that add depth to your experience, not just a bed.
In conclusion
Norway is not just a destination – it’s a feeling.
It’s the echo of footsteps on a mountain trail, the hush of snowfall in a silent valley, the warmth of wood against cold skin. It’s a place that simplifies and deepens. A reminder of what matters.
We invite you to discover Norway through our eyes – and in your own time.
