Villa Ippocampi is nestled in the hills of the picturesque village of Koutouloufari overlooking the lively north coast of the Greek island of Crete. This charming retreat - on a former olive grove - is managed with love and dedication by the Greek Nikos and his Dutch wife, Lydia. Ippocampi is a wonderful place for guests (adults only 16+) who like to enjoy a romantic stay, desire to escape to the sun or explore the island with friends.
The two-story, whitewashed Cycladic style building has 11 apartments and two penthouse suites, each with a kitchenette and a fabulous terrace or balcony. The bright interior, terracotta floors, wooden furniture in island style, doors and shutters in Greek blue all contribute to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The heart of Villa Ippocampi is the sparkling swimming pool and the stylish little bar, set in a walled garden planted with lemon and orange trees, lavender, bougainvillea, and jasmine. Start the day with a delicious breakfast in the morning sun, laze in the garden, and indulge yourself later with cool summer drinks and local delicacies that are served until sunset. In the evening, take a short walk to the local taverns which are also frequented by the locals.
Explore the mountain villages of Koutouloufari, Piscopiano, and the ancient Hersonissos, swim and sun at the nearby beaches (1 km) or breathe ancient Greek culture in the magnificent palace of Knossos.
