Angelica McGlynn. I live between Milan and Puglia. Our accommodation is called CASA M-101, named after the Pinwheel Galaxy Messier-101 that appeared above us in Google Sky, exactly where our house would be built. Architects: Corsaro Architetti.
I am a fundraiser for the arts and a passionate jazz singer. My interests revolve around music, performing arts, yoga, and exploring new cultures by travelling. As a traveller and a quietly confident home cook, I love sharing the basics of local dishes with guests, especially those curious about regional flavours. Whether you’re swapping travel stories over a glass of wine or learning a simple recipe together, I like to make every stay feel personal and engaging
Twenty years ago, my parents and I visited Valle D'Itria and fell in love with the area.
We collaborated with local architects to build the house, incorporating technological advancements while respecting local materials. The interior features 1960s and 70s furniture from my parents collection, from travels and local markets.
It took us years to find the perfect piece of land. We started with a small lamia and expanded the property with hectares of forest, including a Yurt tent where my brother Liam and I slept in our teens It was a long but enjoyable growth process.
The house exudes tranquility thanks to its minimalist design that blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The interior is a mix of 60s and 70s design with modern technology.
The front terrace offers a stunning view of the horizon, making it the perfect place to gather with family and friends.
Our accommodation is located in the heart of Valle D'Itria, surrounded by beautiful towns and forests. It offers cool summer evenings and is only 20 minutes from the Adriatic Sea.
Casa M-101 has an energy efficiency rating of A4, the highest in Italy. We use a heat pump and solar panels for heating, cooling, and water.
Since our family travels often, renting out our home was a logical choice to help with operating and maintenance costs.
Guests enjoy panoramic views and a sense of immersion in nature, thanks to the large windows and serene surroundings of the house.
The house is designed as a 'floating' building, respecting the natural surroundings. Local materials and architectural solutions, such as dry stone walls and a hortus conclusus, create a harmonious whole.
"A perfect place for lovers of contemporary architecture. Everything worked flawlessly, and the house offers the ultimate balance between modern design and comfort."
Guests have told us that the open spaces and panoramic views make the house unique. They recommend embracing the landscape and enjoying the peace and beauty of the surroundings.
